Ezekiel Binns was born in Miami, Florida in 1998. He graduated from the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture during the spring of 2024. Working between art and design, Binns probes the intersections between these disciplines to address their shared concerns: aesthetics, perception, and interaction.
Binns’s practice is characterized by a fusion of traditional and experimental techniques applied across a range of mediums including drawing, sculpture, industrial design, video, installation, architecture and urban planning. By engaging with various media — ranging in scale from drawn marks to video frames and the built environment — Binns meticulously delves into how these mediums communicate and interact with their audiences and so central to his practice are questions about form, function, and context which drive his exploration of what could be, how, and where?
