KARRYL EUGENE
Karryl Eugene (b. 1998) is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York, working in mixed media and sound. His practice examines masculinity, introspection, and online aesthetics, reflecting on the collective cisgender Black male psyche through personal and cultural references. Using collage, painting, drawing, and assemblage, Eugene unpacks psychological and existential themes, exploring identity through both online and personal imagery. His work has been exhibited at David Zwirner in New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, ONART Gallery in Florence, the Reginald Lewis Museum, and Current Space in Baltimore. He has received numerous awards, including the 2021 Mayor’s Individual Artist Award from the Creative Baltimore Fund and a 2022 grant from Creatives Rebuild New York.CV
