Location: Jewel Box, YoungArts, Miami.
Through symbolic objects and explorative live performances, David Correa (2017 YoungArts Winner in Visual Arts) challenged traditional perceptions of labor and the human form. The activation featured remnants and artifacts from these past performances, with Correa's debut short film, Weeping a Petroleum Lubricant, serving as the centerpiece. The film depicted the struggle and transformation of "the Boy" character—a figure embodying the tension between survival and exploitation.
